8th St SW construction begins Monday, April 29

Work is set to begin on 8th St SW on Monday, April 29. This work will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction in the construction area, and travelers should expect delays, especially during peak travel times.

The first phase of work will include the removal and construction/paving of new medians from Scenic View Boulevard to just east of the railroad underpass, as shown in the accompanying map. During this phase:
  • The inside lanes of both eastbound and westbound traffic will be closed.
  • The two driveways into the Lutheran Church of the Cross and the home located at 2001 8th St SW will be right turn-in/right turn-out only.
  • Separate left turn lanes will be maintained at 17th Ave SW for traffic on 8th St SW
